Mental Health First Aid Training for Businesses

The mental health of employees is a growing concern and one of the leading causes of increased absenteeism, from 1 in 10 in 2016 to 1 in 5 in 2022 (Malakoff figures). The 11th barometer of the ‘Empreinte Humaine’ firm in March 2023 describes mental health as “very degraded,” with 44% of employees exposed to psychological distress.

Mental health is crucial for individual well-being, and companies play a vital role in promoting good mental health among their employees. This is why mental health first aid training is becoming increasingly important in the professional environment. This training program enables companies to have internal contacts to intervene with individuals suffering from mental health issues or in crisis. These contacts can be diverse: any employee, manager, executive, employee representative, member of the HR and risk prevention department.

Importance of Mental Health in Business

Program Objectives Mental Health First Aid (PSSM)

Our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA / PSSM) program in the workplace aims to train responders capable of detecting mental health issues, adopting appropriate behavior, providing information on available resources, and encouraging consultation with the appropriate professionals. Inspired by physical first aid training, this program integrates a different sense of urgency and often requires multiple interventions to listen, reassure, and guide the person concerned towards appropriate care.

Benefits of Training for Employees and the Company

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA / PSSM) training is an excellent way to provide employees with tools to manage their own mental health and help their colleagues. By investing in the mental health of their employees, companies contribute to creating a healthier and more prosperous society.

Mental health first aid training helps reduce the stigma associated with mental health disorders and promotes a more inclusive work environment. Trained employees can become mental health advocates, assisting their colleagues and promoting positive attitudes towards mental health.
